It would probably have to be Kareem Abdul Jabbar (went by Lew Alcindor) as the time. i believe he won 3 championships in his 3 years and lost only 2 games during his career- he really changed the game at that level.

Honestly Larry Bird...i know im going out on a long limb here but he took Indiana St not Indiana to the Ncaa Finals....he was a 1 man show who did everything. In his days competition was very good as he had the rival with Magic Johnson...

tim duncan hands down. ive never seen anyone dominate the low post on offense and defense as well as the boards and stay all four years of college. and he played in the acc which at that time was the perrinial power conference.

I know i am just 14 but I hear about these girls who get letters from colleges when they are just in 8th grade. I have always wanted to play womenscollegebasketball for an average team (not like conn. or tennessee) But I just started playing last year and averaged 8 points a game and 4 rebounds. Its just I hear about these girls who start playing when they are 5. Is it possible to have a chance when you start playing when other girls are getting letters from colleges?

Yes but there is somthing u must know and thats u must puy 110% into basketball now. Take Candice Parker she knew she wanted to play ball so she was always out there working always. You must be the first one to practice and the last one out. These 8th graders are born with talent but they worked. I dont know how good u r but u NEED to want it more then everyone else. You must eat driknk and sleep basketball. All these letters are not going to come over night. Dont feel bad if nothing comes till 11th or 12th grade but thats when the scouts kick it into gear. Work hard, show you will do anything to play, work with your coaches and they will help you. Good luck.
If you plan on working your tail off for the next 4 years.... then yea. I would suggest getting a trainer.

Arizona is in danger of breaking that streak this year. theyre currently 16-10, 9-6 in Pac-10. I think they'll still make it, especially with an RPI rating around 20, but they wont be their typical 2 or 3 seed. i wouldnt be surprised to see them get a 10-11 seed if they make it.

because the players incollegethat are stars only stay for one year and go to the nba, where they face players who are much better than they are. nba is where the greatest ball players want to gather in. its not only about individual skills, you see a lot more plays, defense is tighter, the game is faster, the players are bigger. its the ultimate basketball competition. i agree march madness is amazing, simply because anyone can win it all and its exciting to see upsets.

You forgot a potential reason #3. You hate the concept of having PG run the floor, and having the team concept, and prefer the I will drive to the hole no matter if the other team double, or triple teams me.

The one thing I absolutely hate aboutcollegebasketball is the infinite number of timeouts during the games...You got television timeouts, along w/ the coaches timeouts, and add to that the constant blowing of the referee's whistles...All this has madecollegebasketball unwatchable...

I'd say Michael Beasley.

He leads the power 6 conferences (ACC, Big East, Big 10, Big 12, Pac 10 and SEC) in scoring so I don't know how anyone can argue against that.

He can drive on anybody, shoot from anywhere even with a hand in his face, can create his own shot whether it be in the offense or in an isolation, and he is a clutch scorer.

Though I somewhat agree with you about the length of the shot clock incollegeb-ball, I don't think that the rules committee should shorten it to the 24 second time period which is of course the NBA length. That might be a bit too short, and would take away a strategy when a less skilled team is trying to slow down an offensive power. The disparity of skill between some teams is somewhat evened out by hanging onto the ball a little longer, and makes many an otherwise lopsided game at least a little more competitive. Maybe finding a length of time between the NCAA and NBA rules would be a viable alternative.

I don't see too much wrong with the way thecollegegame is played, really, but would like to see the rules that are already in place to be enforced more consistently - and that brings me to my two pet peeves - the lack of consistency regarding carrying the ball, and traveling.

It seems that somewhere along the line, many people forgot that basketball is a game of skill, and part of the game involves the use of pivot foots and SKILLFULLY dribbling the ball to advance it. If these things were taken care of, kids would actually concentrate on developing their skills fully, instead of simply doing the skill half-***ed (edited myself there!) :-) You get the point.

Other than that, I think the game is fine. Don't even get me started on dunking!

I would change the jump ball, tie up rule. I think the ball should go to the defender. For me there is nothing worse than seeing a kid work his butt off on defense tie up the ball from the guy on offense, but the offense keeps the ball. You see a lot more hustle for the ball incollegevs. the pros and it is a shame for a stupid possession arrow to decide things. Especially at the end of games. The consequence of changing this rule would be a lot more hustle in the players but also most likely more fouls. It is always tough for refs to make the call in these situations as it is and changing the rule would create more of these situations.
